Hire a Campervan

Hire a Campervan

Hire a Campervan

Travelling on the road brings a lot of excitement. When you hire a campervan you will feel an air of independence limited only by the time you have to holiday and your imagination. Out on the road to breathe in the fresh air with wondrous sites to see. Your travels will provide unsurpassed possibilities for sight-seeing and a richness and variety of sites every day. You will have the chance to see a lake, a mountain gorge, a narrow valley, an old ruin or the chance to slip into the green richness of a forest. You get to spend long enjoyable evenings and find out anew the beauty of simple living.

Consequently, when you hire a campervan you can also drop into pubs and restaurants which you will find along the way while travelling along lonely country paths. It is indeed a tremendous experience to holiday when you hire a campervan as you get to experience a different kind of holiday. Typically there is enough room for two to seven individuals to sleep comfortably.

Most of the facilities required for camping are found within the campervans and motorhomes. These items include extra sleeping accommodation, leisure batteries to power electrical equipment, gas based cooking and heating appliances and cycle racks at the rear.

The campervan has become a symbol of free holidaying in Europe and continuing production and evolution of these vehicles maintain their popularity. So, the next time you feel like spending your holiday in Europe, don’t think twice about renting one. All the comforts of home can be provided for. It gives you the chance to enjoy nature at its best from the morning till the night when you hire a campervan.

Campervan Rental Holidays

Campervan Rental Holidays

Campervan Rental Holidays

If you would like to arrange your campervan rental holidays now, please call Motorholme on 0800 612 8719 or apply online right now.  The phone lines are ‘manned’ 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you can always talk to someone about your requirements.  If you are thinking about festival campervan hire, don’t leave it too late – it’s not uncommon for us to be sold out way in advance of festivals, especially larger ones like Glastonbury, Reading and The Big Chill.  The same goes for the peak travel times such as the summer school holidays, but with a network of over 500 motorhomes for hire you can be pretty sure that we will be able to find you something suitable for your campervan rental holidays.

So where are you planning on going? Well you don’t have to decide that right now, but it will be necessary for you to tell us if you are going to take the camper abroad or not, for insurance reasons.  Similarly if you are taking your dog with you or not. As well as ‘pet friendly motorhome hire’, we also offer ‘pet free’ motorhomes too that have never had anything furry in them at all.

Anyway personally I’m planning on taking a couple of weeks at Easter in Serre Chevalier in The French Alps – a lovely area and a superb ski resort, it’s not as high profile as your Val d’Isere or Tignes, but it does have some lovely tree lined runs and a huge 250km of piste to play with.  Although there isn’t a dedicated campsite right in the resort anymore during the ski season there are quite a few ‘Aires de Service’ for motorhomes or ‘camping cars’ as the french call them.  My favourite is the tiny one down by the swimming pool in Briancon.  You can finish a days skiing and then go for a quick swim and a shower before making your evening meal.  After that we will probably head off to L’Estartit on The Costa Brava to see some friends down there and then we will go further down to Camping Vinaros, which is just 2km over the Catalan/Valencia border.  Then for the summer holidays we will probably go back to our favourite part of the UK, North Cornwall.  We love that rugged coastline up by Trevose Head and there is tons to do up there.  We got a bit unlucky with the weather last year, so we are hoping for some sunny British summer days this year.

So are you getting your ideas together for your campervan rental holidays?  You can see from my example above, that you can pretty much do whatever you fancy.  If you would like to try a hiring a camper for a short period of time, you will be pleased to know that Motorholme now offer weekend motorhome rental too, but it’s a bit better than just a weekend as you can pick one up on Friday morning and drop it back on Monday afternoon, so you get a nice long weekend with Friday, Saturday and Sunday spent in the motorhome.

Weekend Campervan Hire

Weekend Campervan Hire

Weekend Campervan Hire

Due to the massive demand for festival campervan hire and people just wanting to get away at the weekends, Motorholme are now offering weekend campervan hire.  Even better it’s not just Saturday and Sunday, many people tend to take the Friday and Monday off or just work half days, so Motorholme have adapted their hire to start on Friday am and finish on Monday pm.  This means that you can fully benefit from your weekend campervan hire by arriving in good time on the Friday and not having to worry about leaving until Monday morning.

Hire prices vary for weekends, so it’s best that you call Motorholme on 0800 612 8719 to discuss when you are planning your trip and what size of motorhome you require.  Similarly if it is for a mega popular event such as Glastonbury Festival or Reading Festival, do call well in advance as campervan hire always sells out for these events.  Even though Motorholme have a network of over 500 motorhomes festivals always have a massive attraction for those who don’t fancy being in a tent.

It doesn’t have to be just festivals though, a long weekend is a nice period of time to take the family away somewhere nice, visit some friends or just see if you like the idea of owning your own campervan (it’s easier than you think!).  So don’t hang about, talk to us about weekend campervan hire.

Campervan Hire Cornwall

Campervan Hire Cornwall

Campervan Hire Cornwall

Campervan hire in Cornwall is no problem, just call 0800 612 8719 and we can get you sorted.  Meanwhile here are some campsites that might interest you:

The Mother Ivey’s Bay Holiday Park is located next to Padstow, Cornwall. This park boasts of beaches that are owned privately with charming coves that are protected from the current wind. Because of its accessibility to the beach, families are attracted to its warmth, serenity and calmness. The park’s staff are very courteous and helpful as well.

Another serene camp site in Cornwall is Dennis Cove. Because of the magnificent beaches, it offers water sports along with superior golf courses. Lifeguards are always on the alert in the sandy beaches. Shopping for food is not a problem as there is a supermarket located nearby. Pubs, restaurants and cafés are also accessible in Padstow.  Campers are offered a private, well-maintained area that is located in a beautiful valley overseeing the Camel Estuary. Other amenities in Dennis Cove are: huge, well-kept camping pitches, hygienic showers and toilets, laundry and dishwashing facilities. Campers can also enjoy cycling in the popular Camel Trail cycle track, I had a superb day out in July 2010 doing just this, I even hired a trailer to tow my 1 year old daughter along in.

Situated at the back of Blackwater village is the Valley View Touring Park. The picturesque location offers a charming and beautiful panorama. The camp site provides the following facilities for campers: shower and toilet with the provision for disabled people; and private bath room and change room for babies. Children can liberally play on the petite frivolous field intended for them. People and families who love to cycle or walk will surely enjoy the open plan of the Touring Park. Tradition and legacy spots can be discovered or re-learned.

Bude is one of the popular camp sites which allow you to have a glimpse of the additional appeal and attractions of North Cornwall. This site is regarded as an immense display of the splendor of nature. People who love to surf and ‘sandcastle builders’ will definitely love this place. Campervan hire in Cornwall allows you to drive down to Cornwall and then load up your camper to go and explore.

If you don’t want to begin your campervan hire in Cornwall, but wish to hire elsewhere in the UK, it is not a problem. A network of over 500 motorhomes means that there will always be one where you want to hire one.

Motorhomes for hire in Scotland

Motorhomes for hire in Scotland

Motorhomes for hire in Scotland

Every spring and summer there is always a large demand for motorhomes for hire in Scotland.  Scotland is good place to visit when the weather is looking up as it can get a bit chilly and wet in the winter, but really it is always the season to visit Scotland especially when the small country is perfectly formed in autumn. Forests of golds and greens, haunted castles, grand lochs, big skies and epic mountain scenery; unforgettable beaches, wonderful wildlife, adrenaline fuelled activities, romantic getaways and cool cities too. Autumn is spectacular in Scotland so come and see the sights. So what is it about Scotland?

If you like castles, Scotland has plenty of them:  Craigievar Castle looks as though it’s come straight from a fairytale. Fyvie Castle is an another outstanding example of Scottish baronial architecture. Castle Fraser is for many the Scottish citadel par excellence, its turrets commanding the scene as visitors approach down the Broad Walk. Set amid the stunning scenery of the Cairngorm mountains, 17th century Braemar Castle is appropriately spectacular, with castellated turrets, a star-shaped curtain wall and a bottle-necked dungeon. The magnificent ruin of Huntly Castle is majestically sited where the rivers Bogie and Deveron join, on the outskirts of the pretty market town of Huntly.

So let’s look at one of the motorhomes for hire in Scotland, this is the Rollerteam Granduca 171.  The Rollerteam Granduca 171 motorhome represents true luxury in a 6 berth model with everyone enjoying space and privacy. Enjoy real home from home comfort for all the family in one of our flagship motorhomes.

The motorhome is equipped with TV & CD player, cutlery, crockery, oven, a fully integrated kitchen, luxury washroom with shower, hotel quality interiors and comfortable beds. Fully winter proofed, insulated and double glazed, along with gas fired central heating.

The Rollerteam Granduca 171 is self contained and incorporates a dinette double, overcab double and has bunk beds at the rear. The motorhome has power assisted steering and an economical 2.8ltr Turbo diesel engine, which makes the vehicle very easy to drive and park.

This particular vehicle is a ‘no pets’ motorhome, but if you do want to bring your dog with you, give us a call on 0800 612 8719 and talk to us about ‘pet friendly motorhome hire’.  There are plenty of motorhomes for hire in Scotland, so do call and we can make sure you get the right one for your holiday.

Pet Friendly Motorhome Hire

Pet Friendly Motorhome Hire

Pet Friendly Motorhome Hire

We often get asked if we do pet friendly motorhome hire and the answer is in most cases yes.  There are a few pet free motorhomes that tend to be the newer ones, but in most cases if you want to take your dog with you it is OK, but do tell us first just to make sure.  Call Motorholme on 0800 612 8719 anytime to discuss your requirements.

Anyway whilst writing this, I do wonder why most people Google ‘pet friendly motorhome hire‘ when really they mean ‘dog friendly motorhome hire’. I’ve definitely  never heard of anyone wishing to take their cat or fish on a motorhome holiday, maybe some people sneak their pet snake or tarantula with them without telling us?

So will you be taking your dog to the pub on your holiday? Times are changing.  You might have noticed that in the UK some pubs welcome children but exclude dogs, often these tend to be pubs doing food and stuff like that. Some pubs only allow dogs at outside tables, which is OK, but some of those won’t serve food outside which is not OK.

The commonest excuses about not allowing dogs are “it’s the regulations”, or “Brussels”, or “they bark at the bar stools”. We know this is all it is – an excuse, as it is not actually illegal at all, except in the food preparation area.

Anyway we hope you have a great holiday with your dog, cat, fish, snake or spider – Motorholme have the largest network of motorhomes for hire in the UK, so I’d like to stick my neck out and say that they also have the largest network for pet friendly motorhome hire too.

Weekend Motorhome Rental

Weekend Motorhome Rental

Weekend Motorhome Rental

The demand for weekend motorhome rental has been increasing over the last few years.  A lot of the requests are for motorhome hire for festivals, but at the same time, people just want to get away.  The weather in the UK can never be relied on, but you can get a pretty good idea of what the week ahead is going to be like – so if you want to get away for a long weekend and you can afford to make a late decision, it’s all good.

Anyway the good news is that Motorholme now offer weekend motorhome rental, which can begin on Friday morning and end on Monday afternoon if you wish.  This means you get three nights away and almost 4 days motorhome hire.  Obviously when we get heavily into the festival season, there isn’t going to be massive availability, so call 0800 612 819 first to check what there is available.

So what are you waiting for? The winter is nearly over now, so have a think about where you would like to go or who you would like to see – hiring a camper can be a really neat way to just catch up with old friends – meet them wherever you like and have no worries about ‘crashing at their place’ or finding a Bed and Breakfast, you have everything you need with you.

Of course we would prefer you thought about hiring a motorhome for your main summer holiday and going somewhere unforgettable, but weekend getaways are definitely becoming much more popular than ever before.  You may also notice that some rental companies don’t like to do weekend motorhome rental when it gets into the peak season, but with Motorholme this is just not so.  Call us today (or tonight) and surprise your self at how easy it all is to arrange.
